All the art you see here is just an attempt to express my feelings and interests, nothing more.

Right now, I'm fully committed to becoming an animator. I enjoy animated movies the most, and always have. To be apart of that creative process is my dream.

Thanks for stopping by.

Back to Business

Mon Oct 19, 2009, 7:30 PM
I’ve decided to get down to business on art, music, and personal projects. Haven’t been doing a lot of creative activities for awhile and I figure that’s the medicine I’ve been skipping.

A lot of that inactivity is a result of not having a fully functional computer for the past couple weeks. But according to a message I got this afternoon, our new PC from Digital Storm will be arriving tomorrow. I’m pretty excited :), it’s a rather powerful machine. It’ll be excellent for rendering and image processing being that it’s got one of those new quad core i7 processors.

Regarding pictures, I have two sketches completed that I’m satisfied with. One being of Javelin (Prehistoric Artillery), and the other of Robin Hood.

Now onto 3d animation, I was wondering if anyone here has gone through the video approval process here on Deviant Art? I know it’s by invitation only, and I sent the link to one of my 3d talk-test animations from my “secret” Youtube account. I really want to get involved with the film community here, it seems rather exciting so wish me luck on that :). I have a lot of animated film ideas that I’d like to produce, and I’d love to upload them onto Deviant Art being that this site is completely art oriented, unlike Youtube.

As always, I appreciate your time. And I promise my journal activity will go back down to normal.

Hey Kyle, I have yet another song that I wrote over the weekend. I tried very hard this time to do two things:

1. focus less on the strings.

2. use a consistent melody.

Right now I'm pretty satisfied with both of those. Anyway, it's called "Remember This." Here's the [link]

I love the title, and I'm really liking the theme in this one. The piano and harp sounds great together. This song has a heavy but more positive feeling about it, my favorite part is around 2:18 and 3:18 when...it sounds like a recorder, is playing. I love the volume changes as the music gets louder and softer into this epic and emotional ending.

You certainly accomplished your goals here, I'd say. I love this song :D.

Thanks for the compliments. The instrument you're talking about is actually a piccolo instead of a recorder, but the MIDI versions of those instruments sound a lot alike.

BTW, did you end up doing anything different with the ending of your "Memories..." song? Just wondering.
:iconfeoranpride:
Oh a piccolo, yeah the two sounds on my piano are similar as well.

I haven't touched the Memories song yet, I've been working on another song for the past few days. I'll be posting the lyrics as a deviation here with the recording attached pretty soon if you'd like to take a listen :).

Most definitely. I'll keep an eye out for it.

Just thought I'd let you know, I finished that work-in-progress composition last night. I guess your recent song must have inspired me ;). Anyway, I hope you like it. I did change the beginning a little. Let me know what you think.

Wow A.J, you and I just keep feeding each other inspiration. This song is lovely and sweet, I love the changes you've made. My favorite parts are the melody at 45 seconds, and the warm ending. Though it all sounds absolutely wonderful, especially through my speakers...making the walls shake.

I downloaded the trial version of Finale Print Music, been having a lot of fun with it. Though it would certainly help if I knew more about written music, but I'm learning :).

Be sure to share any future musical projects :D, I really enjoy listening.

Well, thanks. I'm glad you liked it. I still drive myself nuts trying to settle on a consistent theme. That's one of my weaknesses, is structure. Someday I should just take a class in music theory.

Anyway, best of luck with the software, although I'd imagine it would be pretty difficult if you didn't know standard notation. Hope it works out.
